New things are always happening on the Ranch, and we’re always excited to spread the word! Our master-planned community in Liberty Hill, TX near Georgetown, Austin, and Round Rock is always growing. Every time a moving truck brings a new family to Santa Rita Ranch, we usually see a few more kids carrying backpacks and lunch bags up and down the sidewalk on school days.

Santa Rita Middle School Opens

We know that good schools play a huge part in the decision families make when choosing a new home, so we place education at the top of our list of priorities. That’s one of the reasons we broke ground on a new on-site middle school earlier this year, and we’re thrilled to announce that Santa Rita Middle School is now officially open to some 1,000 students in grades 6-8! Go Panthers!

As the newest on-site addition to the Liberty Hill ISD, Santa Rita Middle School is located off Ronald Reagan Blvd., across the street from our South Village. It joins Santa Rita Elementary and Divine Savior Academy to become the third on-site school serving Santa Rita Ranch.

For kids, this means school and friends are closer than ever. For parents, it’s just one more community convenience that makes Santa Rita Ranch an ideal place to live and raise a family. Now, kids from grades pre-K through 8th grade will be able to walk to school every day—weather permitting, of course!

Liberty Hill ISD Middle Schools

It doesn’t hurt that Liberty Hill ISD middle schools are part of a larger 5A public school district that supports more than 5,700 students from pre-kindergarten through 8th grade in the beautiful Texas Hill Country northwest of Austin. Rated “A” by the Texas Education Agency (TEA), the district has a commitment to excellence that shows in everything it does, and we couldn’t be happier to be a part of it. We can’t wait to watch all the Ranch kids grow up as they are encouraged to learn and become the best versions of themselves!

In an interview published by The Independent, principal Travis Motal explained the thinking behind the new middle school, saying that there are significant benefits to having separate elementary and middle schools.

“That’s a traditional model around the area, plus it makes sense and will be much better for the students and their whole experience,” Motal said. “Middle school is such a formative time. There’s just a whole lot where kids learn about themselves, their identities, who their friends are. At the end of the day, we’re all still Panthers and we’re all still preparing them to head to Liberty Hill High School.”

The Independent has more information about the new school, including its design and the programs that are being offered.
