These days, it seems like Texas has never been more popular with folks looking to relocate from other states – especially California! Why wouldn’t it be? We’ve got a lower cost of living, an abundance of jobs in nearly every market and sector, land and opportunity as far as the eye can see, and a business-friendly environment in one of the fastest-growing economies in the nation!

That’s not all. Texas is known for the diverse, friendly nature and unique culture of its inhabitants. On top of all that, Texas has much more affordable housing than California, friendlier drivers on the roads, plenty of wide-open spaces, great regional cuisine, and a warm, inviting climate for outdoor adventure.

Texas continues to be the most popular destination for Californians who choose to live in another state, and we’re proud to say that Austin is one of the top destinations for folks who are moving from California to Texas. Why are we proud of that? Because the Austin area is where we call home, too! We absolutely love it here, and we’re always happy to welcome new neighbors from out of state.

Thinking about moving to Austin, TX?

There are many benefits to living in Texas. If you’re considering moving to the Austin area, we can tell you from firsthand experience that it’s a great place to live!

What makes Austin such an ideal destination if you’re moving from California to Texas? Well, for starters, Austin is the capital city of our great state. It also has the distinction of being in Forbes’ top ten fastest-growing economies in the country. In fact, the roster of tech companies that make their home in our “Silicon Hills” includes 3M, Adobe, Amazon, AMD, Apple, Cisco, eBay, Facebook, Google, Hewlett-Packard, IBM, Intel, Nvidia, Oracle, PayPal, Roku, and Tesla, among many others.

It isn’t just about job opportunities, either. Austin and the surrounding regions are home to plenty of wide-open spaces, fresh air, and some of the most beautiful sunsets you’ll ever see. And all that space also means we have a lower cost of living than you’ll find in California. In fact, Texas doesn’t have state income tax, which is a big savings right there, since the income tax in California is one of the highest around.
