Let’s welcome our newest neighbor! There’s a new fire station in the Santa Rita Ranch neighborhood, and that’s great news for everyone in our community! It’s going to cut emergency response times in half and help save residents money on their homeowners insurance.
Our community recently celebrated the Grand Opening of the second fire station in Liberty Hill. The $4.7 million fire station is part of the Williamson County Emergency Service District No. 4 and was designed to handle an engine company, a ladder company, and a medic company. It features two and a half pull-through bays and sleeping quarters for up to ten firefighters.
The new fire station is located at 22799 Ronald W. Reagan Blvd. That’s right down the road from us here at the Santa Rita Ranch master planned community! It was built to address the emergency response, prevention, and community education needs of the western part of Williamson County ESD for many years to come.
Santa Rita Ranch has been in talks with Williamson County ESD for some time. With the success and expansion of Santa Rita Ranch, ensuring that there was a fire station minutes from residents was a top priority. Williamson County ESD needed a second station as well, and we believed that having one so close would provide an enormous benefit to our residents at Santa Rita Ranch while also giving something back to the community that we love!
A new fire station in western Williamson County is expected to reduce service response times, while also providing area residents with better access to the equipment and staff that are vital in the event of an emergency. With sleeping quarters for up to ten firefighters, the station is designed to be a home away from home for emergency personnel, who work 48-hour on-call shifts and have to be ready to go at a moment’s notice! A kitchen and common area provide them a place to eat and relax between calls.
Quick Facts About the New Fire Station:
• The new station is a $4.7 million facility and has been planned to serve the Williamson County ESD for the next 50 years!
• The 10,500-square-foot facility features 10 bedrooms and 4 full bathrooms, as well as office space, a conference room, a kitchen, and a common area.
• The new station, located on Ronald W. Reagan Blvd., sits on 3.052 acres donated by Santa Rita Ranch.
• The station will house three to four firefighters at all times, with room for EMS should the need arise.
Besides providing community members with quicker access to the emergency services they need, the new fire station offers an additional benefit to the residents of Santa Rita Ranch: lower rates on homeowners insurance. One of the factors that determines insurance rates is how far away a home is from emergency services, and the new station is expected to move many homes from a rating of 10 (the highest) to a 4, which could provide big savings!
On Saturday, September 28, 2019, residents joined firefighters and emergency services personnel for the Grand Opening. Residents got a tour of the brand-new fire station as well as hands-on looks at the trucks and ambulances that the station will be using. The new fire station is now fully operational, and our local firefighters and support staff are ready to help protect lives and property!
