We’ll get a little more into what exactly that means in a minute, but the short version is that it means Liberty Hill is among the best school districts in the country!
Those looking for an A+ school in Liberty Hill can choose from Liberty Hill Elementary, Intermediate, Junior High, and High Schools, not to mention the new Santa Rita Ranch Elementary in Liberty Hill ISD, which is currently under construction and will open in August 2020. What makes Liberty Hill ISD one of the best school districts in Texas?
Like all of us here at Santa Rita Ranch, everyone involved with Liberty Hill ISD has a commitment to excellence in everything they do. Liberty Hill ISD has a vision for “building champions in academics, character, and community,” which is part of the reason it’s recognized as a “Character Plus” district.
Liberty Hill produces graduating students who are “future-ready” and “empowered to be the best versions of themselves.” The ISD, the superintendent, and the school board that helps govern the school believe that every student deserves to have the highest quality education in a safe, secure, and nurturing learning environment. That’s why Liberty Hill ISD has such high expectations for quality instruction and student achievement.
How is the “A” rating decided?
In 2017, the Texas Legislature passed a bill establishing three areas for measuring academic performance:
- Student Achievement measures how much students have learned,
- School Progress shows how students perform over time and how they compare to students from other schools,
- Closing the Gaps deals with how different populations of students are performing within the district.
All these are combined with other data to form a “School Overview” rating, which shows how well the district has prepared students for success, not only in school, but in the rest of their life, including college and a career. Liberty Hill ISD has earned and maintained an “A” rating since the measurements were established.
