The official word is out! Santa Rita Ranch is the number-one community in Austin, and Austin is currently one of the top housing markets in the nation. What an honor! The greater Austin area boasts dozens of beautiful master-planned communities, and they’ve all received high praise for their affordable home offerings and eye-catching amenities at one time or another, but Santa Rita Ranch seems to be on something of a winning streak lately. Once again, a national-level industry researcher has called us one of the best master-planned communities in Austin area.
The Home Builders Association has already honored Santa Rita Ranch as a three-time Developer of the Year, a three-time Community of the Year, and the Best-Selling Master-Planned Community in the Austin-Round Rock area. Just this week, Santa Rita Ranch has been named “The Most Active Community in Austin” in a Zonda survey of communities.
Zonda is a housing market research and real estate analytics company that provides data-driven housing market solutions to the homebuilding and multifamily industries. The company, which is based in Newport Beach, CA, is staffed by 60 market advisors, 500 researchers, and 50 technologists. The Fall 2021 Zonda Market Report identified the most active Austin subdivisions by annual starts (new residential construction projects), and Santa Rita Ranch tops the list.
Interestingly, four Texas markets made the national Top 10 rankings: DFW, Houston, Austin, and San Antonio. Austin is considered one of the fastest-growing metro areas in the U.S. The city has the sixth most active new home market in the nation. Liberty Hill ranks second in the Top 10 submarkets by annual housing starts. Santa Rita Ranch is the number-one most active community in Austin, and it’s the fifth most active in Texas with 721 starts over the past four quarters among the Zonda survey of communities.
It’s an honor to be named one of the best master planned communities in Texas, but it’s the result of a lot of hard work and dedication from the whole team.
“This is truly an amazing achievement by all at Santa Rita Ranch,” Developer Ed Horne said. “It has put Santa Rita Ranch into the record books in terms of starts in an Austin community. The number of starts has to be the most in Austin’s history by a single community.”
The Fall 2021 Zonda Market Report combines data from Metrostudy and Zonda to provide a complete view of market and economic conditions as well as regional and national trends. Zonda predicts the trend will continue. Zonda research suggests the Austin housing market as a whole will finish 2021 with 27,500 to 28,000 starts, and we can expect to see “modest growth” in the range of 3%-7% with 28,500 to 29,500 starts expected in the coming year.
