Austin has been a major destination for a while now, but it has really picked up steam in the last year!
You may have already heard that Texas is the state for companies looking to relocate from all over the country and beyond! You may have even seen it on the news! Austin’s local ABC-affiliate KVUE recently reported on how hundreds of U.S. companies are now choosing to expand operations in Texas or make a new home here. Given all that, it should come as no surprise that Austin is currently ranked as one of the top 10 best real estate markets in the country, with lots of new companies moving to Austin in 2021.
All of these plans bring with them jobs and workers, which help to drive the state’s economy and improve local communities. We’re so happy to welcome new families to Texas at our master-planned community near Austin!
Texas is, quite simply, the leading destination for companies relocating from other states. This means that a thousand new residents are becoming Texans every day. Why are so many companies moving to Texas in 2021? The answer is different for every company, but some of the same things that bring new residents to Texas also help to attract big businesses, including lower housing costs and a welcoming atmosphere. Texas is also a very business-friendly state, with low tax rates and fewer regulations.
Of course, anyone who already lives in Texas knows that there’s a lot here that we can offer just about any business. Austin tech companies have been booming for a while, and drawing from an experienced pool of talent, including new graduates from schools like the University of Texas, Texas A&M, the University of Houston, Rice University, and many more.
What Companies are Moving to Austin?
We’ve all heard about big plans for Apple, BAE systems, Oracle, Tesla, and Samsung here in the Austin area, but those are far from the only new companies moving to Austin in 2021. In fact, companies across all sectors are moving to the area. According to the Austin Chamber of Commerce, more than 100 companies announced expansions or relocations to the Austin area in 2020. That’s nearly double the number from 2019. Here’s a list of just a few of the companies now planning to move to the Austin area in 2021 bringing with them more jobs!
- AgencyMVP, an insurance prospect management software company.
- CrowdStreet, an online commercial real estate investment marketplace.
- Guardian Bikes, a company offering product development for bicycles and braking systems.
- Harmonate, a fund management data solutions company, 10 jobs.
- NinjaRMM, an IT management software company.
- Eleiko, a fitness equipment distributer.
- Halo Technologies, a body camera R&D and sales company.
- Alpha Paw, an online pet products retailer.
- Digital Realty Trust, a company that operates data center facilities.
- Longevity Partners, a company that performs environmental consulting.
- Sentry Kiosk, a manufacturer of health screening kiosks for access control.
- ZVRS, a company that provides communication technology for the hearing impaired.
Some of these companies have moved their HQs to the Austin area in 2021 already, while others are still in the planning phase, but they all should be here before the end of the year, joining the many other companies that already make Austin their home. Many more are yet to come!
