Where to find the best barbecue is one of the greatest debates to ever come to the state of Texas. Countless names in and outside of the city of Austin, TX are always mentioned as “the best”: Louie Mueller Barbecue, The Salt Lick, and Freedman’s are just a few. However, one restaurant’s name comes up time and time again and that is Franklin Barbecue. The Thrillist says the brisket is the “best thing you can eat in Texas.” Franklin’s is popular with locals and visitors alike, be prepared to wait a few hours in line to try their famous fare.

Where to Get Your Morning Joe

Another greatly debated topic in Austin, TX is the best place to get a latte. There are so many places to choose from including coffee shop food trucks that it’s hard to narrow the list down to just one. Lesley Taylor of the Downtown Austin blog picked her tops. If you are checking out the downtown area, stop in at Houndstooth. According to the owners, their baristas are just as much to brag about as their coffee skills.

Best New Restaurant

Again, another hard category to narrow down to one is best new restaurant, so why should we? Austin Eater had some choices for the best places to try now. One, the popular and long-awaited Shake Shack. The burger and custard place has just opened on South Lamar. Another is Sala & Betty which is tucked into the super cool neighborhood of North Loop and offers convenient drive thru service.
