It’s the first day of sweet summertime and what better way to kick off your upcoming 4th of July party with refreshing treats! Avoid the Texas heat on your 4th of July bash with red, white, and blue home-made iced treats with a twist.

Refreshing Berry Popsicle

This patriotic Popsicle if filled with healthy ingredients and it going to be a hit at your outdoorsy 4th of July party.

Fresh Berries (I used blueberries, raspberries, and sliced strawberries)
Coconut Water (I used Amy and Brian’s Coconut Juice)

Drop berries into Popsicle molds
Pour the coconut water over the berries to fill the popsicle mold
Insert popsicle sticks.
Cover and let it chill for several hours.
Before serving, have trays sit at room temperature for a few minutes for easy release from the molds.

Red,White, & Blue Jell-O Ice Cubes

This is colorful and fun way to enjoy your refreshing drink this Fourth of July!

One 1.55 oz box Summer Berry Punch gelatin
One 3 oz box Berry Blue Jell-O
One 3 oz box Strawberry Jell-O
Bottled water or Lemon Lime Soda

Prepare each box of Jell-O according to package directions
Keep the amount of boiling water the same but reduce the amount of cold water added by half.
Pour gelatin into molds or silicon ice cube trays and freeze until solid (at least 4 hours).
Carefully remove frozen Jello ice cubes and place in a glass.
Top with lemon lime soda or even ice cold water and enjoy!

The Patriotic Smoothie

This is berrylicious! Celebrate America’s birthday with a red, white, and blue smoothie.

For Blue Layer:
1/2 Cup milk or cranberry juice
1 Cup blueberries, fresh or frozen
1 Tablespoon honey
3 oz  lemon yogurt
5-8 ice cubes

For White Layer:
1/2 Cup milk
1 Tablespoon honey
6 oz lemon yogurt
6-8 ice cubes

For Red Layer:
1/2 Cup milk or cranberry juice
1 Cup strawberries, fresh or frozen
1/2 Cup pitted cherries, fresh or frozen
1 Tablespoon honey
3 oz lemon yogurt
5-8 ice cubes.

Blend together the ingredients for the blue layer and divide into 3 (or more) glasses.
Place them into the freezer for 10 minutes.
Repeat for the previous steps for each layer
Freeze at least 10 minutes in between each color.
Let it thaw for a minimum of 10 minutes before serving.
